YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED

Where: TARGET
When: Sunday April 25, 2010
Why: Zac Posen for Target Debuts

That's right you read correctly. Zac Posen for Target. Although there is often a lot of hype surrounding designer collaborations with department/chain stores this is one that I think will truly be worth showing up early for, especially if you already viewed the lookbook but missed the 24 hour pop-up-shop last week. Not only is the collection wonderfully priced but it is also well designed in the sense that the fabric choices and prints are right on point with SS10 trends. More importantly the collection consists of pieces that can truly be incorporated into your wardrobe, mixed and matched and put into heavy rotation.

Pieces to Go Quickly: The cherry red leather jacket $199.00, The tropical print gown $69.99, The red ruffled tulle party dress $79.99

Heavy Rotation Pieces: Cherry red leather jacket $199.00, Black tuxedo jacket $49.99 Black ruched pencil skirt $34.99

Fill Ins: Rain Jacket $49.99, Polka dot print shirt $39.99, Black tank dress with tye-dye straps $79.99

Summer Staples: Tye-dye v-neck bathing suit $39.99, Gold bathing suit $39.99, Floral Patterned day dress $79.99

Note: Pieces are in order based on the above categories. Of course there's more to choose from.

In The Trenches

Just in case you haven’t noticed Spring has sprung.  As the new season progresses getting out of our old man Winter wardrobe and ways may seem a bit difficult but you don’t have to go at it all at once. For starters abandon that itchy scarf, hat, and mittens you’ve been donning all winter.  Swap out that hat for a knitted beanie perhaps. Once you’ve done that dry clean and then pack away that big puffy down or wool coat you’ve been wearing for a more glamorous version of a cover-up. Make believe you’re a spy starting a new mission which wouldn’t be complete without that fabulous trench, khaki, sand, black or a more unusual color or pattern. Whatever your heart desires, just be sure to belt the waist just right, pull up the collar a bit, and roll. Check out some choices below.

Try This: Neutrogena Skincare Products

Why: They smell great, really work, can be found in most drugstores, are so affordable and work just as well as many higher priced products on the market.

Neutrogena Body Exfoliator in Energizing Citrus
Product description: A sugary citrusy smelling scrub that smells so good it almost seems edible (it’s not though).
Product Purpose: Gently gets rid of dry, dull skin cells while leaving skin feeling smooth and moisturized as a result of the oils in it. What I really love about the Citrus Scrub is the scent it can wake you up or calm you down at the end of the day.

Neutrogena Deep Moisture Body Cream Butter Cream
Product Description: A light, deep moisturizing body cream that smells great (if you like the smell of cocoa butter you will love this).
Product Purpose: This cream can be used as a follow up to the Citrus Scrub or on a regular basis. The smell is so rich and fresh that it can actually serve as an alternative to perfume if you happen to be one that doesn’t wear many scents well.

Neutrogena Body Oil in Light Sesame Formula
Product Description: Light moisturizing body oil
Product Purpose: This oil actually has a dual purpose. You can use this on your skin after your bath or shower (I like it as a follow up to the Citrus Scrub) or while you are in the bath you can add some of this to the water.

Been Around The World & Back Again....

Ok so maybe not but, with these SS10 pieces you can feel like you have. It is no shock that fashion has gone global/tribal; it’s been heading this way for the last few seasons with just a few designers taking notice and jumping on the bandwagon. At this point the fashion world is just about exploding with exotic prints, patterns and colors sending us all into daydreams of times past, exotic islands, cold drinks, tropical days and breezy nights. Here are some of my favorites.

THE ART OF THE CARDIGAN

If you don’t already own one, a few, or plenty, you should. Although this convenient and versatile styled sweater has been around forever, for these last few years we have seen the cardigan reinvented in so many different ways. With so many choices and cuts to choose from there’s certainly one for everyone and now it’s cool to be caught in a cardigan after 5pm. No longer just a work wardrobe staple the cardigan has gone from short to long, to grandpa/boyfriend cut, sheer, sequined, ruffled, bedazzled, short or long sleeved and now more popularly, thanks to our first lady, belted.

Credits: Marc by Marc Jacobs pink/orange cardigan  $200.00, Marc By Marc Jacobs striped cardigan $340.00, Marc by Marc Jacobs Twilight blue multi-striped cardigan $445.00, Alexander McQueen Cashmere asymetric cardigan $1545.00, Matthew Williamson silk jeweled button cardigan $495.00, Topshop Heart spotted cardigan $80.00, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ruby sequined cardigan $260.00.

GO GREEN

Go green. Go green. Solar panel this. Hybrid that. These days it is in to be environmentally friendly (not to mention beneficial to us all). Not only can we do our part by recycling and conserving energy but also by switching up our beauty regimens to include products that are healthier for us, the planet and animals. During my usual search for whats new and next for SS10 makeup and nail polish colors I came across ZOYA. I know with so many polish brands and colors to choose from it is hard for one brand to stand out from the next. What makes ZOYA so special is tat there is a color for everyone with shades ranging from your whitest white (Purity) to your blackest sparkly black (Raven) and more importantly all of their products are 3Free. You might be wondering what this is and why this is important. For many years many of the polish brands we've come to love have toxic chemicals in them. These chemicals are Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde and Toluene. Zoya products are free of them all making this brand safe for the environment and every girl who loves a good mani, pedi. Oh btw, they also come in these great themed six packs you won't be able to resist.
