Recently Opened: J.Crew Wedding Boutique

Who/What: J. Crew Wedding Boutique
Where: 769 Madison Ave. at 66th Street
Why: For those of us familiar with J.Crew, we realize the brand has been designing and selling wedding gowns at great prices and high style since 2004. With the opening of their Wedding Boutiques, designs we only had access to within their seasonal catalogues or website, can now be viewed in person with even more fabulous designs to choose from. What is even more exciting and convenient is that the wedding boutique will serve as a one-stop shop for the entire wedding party and all of the bride's needs. There are many options for the bridesmaids, the groom, groomsmen, the flower girl as well as the ring bearer. Oh, and if you need a honeymoon wardrobe, they've got you covered there to. I have a feeling brides will be thanking the geniuses at J.Crew for years to come.

ON TREND SS 2010 LEATHER: Skin Is In

Many of us have already begun to shed our layers and flaunt some skin, but this season a second skin is in: leather that is. I know, it sounds hot, sweaty and clingy, but trust me as they always say, “It’s not what you do but how you do it”. Of course these pieces are not beachwear, or even pieces that should be worn before the sun goes down, but more for a night on the town. SS leather pieces are constructed differently from their AW counterparts so they are not heavily lined for warmth. Any of the pieces below can easily be rocked with the following: white tank, white jeans, sandals, shorts or skirts.

Info: Upside Down Heart Jacket $360.00 @ Topshop, Mocha Leather Dress by Armand Basi $320.00 @ MySugarland.co.uk, Studded Leather Mini Skirt $1,377.00 by Versace, Lace-up Leather Shorts $945.00 by Alexander Wang, Tie Back Leather Tank $595.00 by 3.1 Phillip Lim.
