THROWING SHADE

Everybody loves a great pair of shades, whether they’re needed to simply block the sun, to top off an outfit or to simply look cute and guarded. Some of us choose to go the designer route while some of us simply pick up as many pairs as possible from the local drugstore or street vendor. While we do have an array of choices whether we choose to go for the low or high priced pair, in this post I’m focusing on the best pairs of yester year, the old, the vintage and the glamorous and in my opinion, some of the best.

GO SEE:The MET Special Exhibitions

The, Picasso in The Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibit, at The Metropolitan Museum of Art will be there until mid August. The exhibit became available for viewing on April 27th and will be closing on August 15th. The collection is said to be an amalgamation of 300 of the Spanish artist's pieces, such as paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and drawings.

While you are there don't forget to visit the, American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity, exhibit. This exhibit is also on display until August 15th. See how the style choices of women of certain time periods mirrored their "social, political and sexual" views. BEAUTY AND OTHER THINGS

URBAN BEAUTY
Urban Outfitters has launched their beauty section on URBN.com, so you can pick up your favorite shade of polish along with that cute shirt and hat you've always wanted. The options already seem endless with popular brands such as NYX and Stila. The site also carries the PAUL and JOE line, the packaging of their product line is enough to make you want one of everything before you even try it. I'm thinking of getting the summer lipstick in Pink, the summer nail enamels in Oasis and Marrakesh. Some of my other must-haves are from the Anna Sui line and The Lipstick Queen lip pencils.

A Doll's Life
When I first saw these dolls some time ago in the ASOS BARBIE LOUNGE, I wanted to start playing with dolls all over again. Not only did I enjoy the hot clothing and accessories they have for the dolls, I was especially pleased with the way in which each doll is BARBIE, and clearly of a different race. I have to say the women of color are well represented in this doll collection.

THE FABULOUS ZOE
Get ready for the debut of the Rachel Zoe clothing collection, slated to hit stores and boutiques in the Fall of 2011. The line is said to be affordable and within reach to all. There's nothing wrong with looking like a million bucks when you've only spent two hundred.

PEEL & STICK
Try minx inspired nail designs by OPI at Sephora. Each pack contains 16 sticker applications and cost about $15.00 per pack. Apply them yourself or take them to your manicurist to apply them for you.

ITEM OF THE WEEK: DKNY Quilted Chain Strapped Bag

This bag is functional with lots of storage space (which is very relative for bag ladies such as myself), the pastel pink color is so lady like and sweet, and the versatile ways of which the bag can be worn is like getting a two for one, which we all love. You can wear this bag cross-body or carry it by the chain straps. I like the chain option. This bag retails for about $345.00.
